In the days before everybody had automobiles, it made sense to put things like shops, cafes, maybe even a little movie theater, right in the neighborhood. Now that everybody has automobiles … we think it still makes sense. So, beginning with our second village, and as this master-planned community grows, our vision is to create a series of neighborhood retail districts. Because when you have shopping, dining and entertainment close to home, you might get a little more exercise and spend less on gasoline. You might run into neighbors and friends. And it's a well-known fact that a hazelnut latte tastes even better when you walk to get it.
